Dutch edit

Etymology edit

From French Anouk, popularised by actress Anouk Aimée, who adopted the name after her role in the film La Maison sous la mer (1947). Prior to that there is little evidence of such a name, though it has been said to be a northern French or Breton diminutive of Anne. Compare Annick.
