Japanese edit

Kanji in this term
Grade: S Hyōgaiji
irregular

Etymology edit

Gikun word derived by applying Chinese-derived spelling 充牣 (fill), a term which decomposes into (be full) + (fill up), to native Japanese verb みつ (mitsu, to fill).

Verb edit

充牣 (みて)[1] (mite) → () (mitsu)

  1. fill
※ Note: みて (mite) is the imperative form of みつ (mitsu, be filled). Two kanji with similar sense forming 充牣 (みて) emphasizing the imperative (みてよ, miteyo) in Genesis 1:22.
※ See also 滿盈 (みて) (mite). There are two gikun versions of みて (mite) in Genesis 1.
