Appendix:Sindarin/amlug
Sindarin edit
Etymology edit
Only attested in Tolkien’s earlier conception of the language (‘Noldorin’). Diegetically explained as am- (“snake”) + lhûg (“dragon”), a formation parallel to Quenya angulócë (if cognate, the expected common ancestor would be Primitive Elvish *angwaslōkō, which is, however, not attested by Tolkien).
Noun edit
amlug • t#jx& (plural emlyg)
