Sindarin edit

Etymology edit

Modified from ann in Tolkien’s earlier conception of the language (‘Noldorin’), itself modified from yet earlier indra, inra in ‘Gnomish’. Diegetically explained as inherited from Primitive Elvish *andā, and so cognate to Quenya anda.
