I think so too. The only thing I can find is a hypothetical (?) MHG heimezen to explain the modern word. The missing OHG form is not a prob tho, it can be easily reconstruced, the form would be *heimezzen. Leasnam (talk) 18:32, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

It's unattested in OHG. The MHG form is late. And Kluge says it's a derivative in "-isō". So there are many doubts even though the semantics work perfectly. I've added a note in the descendants table. Kolmiel (talk) 22:14, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
