Descendants in the North Germanic languages and Old English edit

The Appendix claims from its inception that the North Germanic words (in Danish, Norwegian, Swedish and Icelandic) arguably descend from Old English, whereas the ODS clearly defines Danish Sæbe as loanword from Middle Low German (source). It is highly probable that this is the case with Norwegian and Swedish too (although I have not consulted any source on Norwegian and Swedish etymologies). Therefore it remains to be elucidated whether there is, in sooth, any source claiming that the North Germanic words (especially Sæbe) arguably descend from OE. Is there one?
