American Sign Language terms that give attributes to nouns, extending their definitions.
When used predicatively, these signs are often translated into English using a form of to be, but from the standpoint of ASL grammar, they are adjectives, not verbs. See Index:American Sign Language for an index that includes English glosses. For a description of sign entry names, see Appendix:Sign language entry names.
