I do not understand how this category is organized. Why is "polynomial" in the P section while "polynitrogen" is under N? --Quintopia (talk) 17:10, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Because the "Etymology" sections of polynomial and polynitrogen use different templates: {{prefix}} and {{confix}}, and these two templates are responsible for the sort key of the articles. --MaEr (talk) 17:26, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
