- I do understand that the t-slur was used pretty recklessly a few years ago, in the same vein as using "gay" or the r-slur as an insult, but what I don't like here is how defensive Willam is against this person, who's just trying to point out hypocrisies in her way of thinking. Yes, she may have used it freely back in the day, but she needs to understand that times have changed and people don't take too kindly at letting that word slide. I like her and I still think she's funny, but I think she needs to be a bit more considerate about dated terms like this.

- Using the r-slur as an adjective will always be an insult. Different people have different developmental needs and all using this word to describe disabled people in a broad sense does is ostracize and infantilize us.
It is not an accurate term and should have never been acceptable in a medical sense. The r-slur paints all disabled people with a broad stroke and equates having a disability with being “delayed” in a sense with no room for nuance. Having different needs for being autistic or having ADHD does not make you less than in any regard. And the same goes for a number of other disabilities the r-slur has been used as an umbrella term for.

- I think it's borderline. Definitely not as historically charged as the r-slur, but not without some historical charge, either. A band could probably have gotten away with calling themselves that 20 years ago, or maybe even now, but probably not 20 years from now - so it wouldn't be a wise choice of band name for a band that wants to last very long.
