  1. (politics) ΕΛΑΣ (Ελληνικός Λαϊκός Απελευθερωτικός Στρατός), the Greek People's Liberation Army, the military arm of the left-wing National Liberation Front (ΕΑΜ) during the period of the Greek Resistance until February 1945.
