| Description |
English: Straw Figures in a field near Leigh This rather cute pair of corn figures appeared in a field for a very brief period in 1997. They were advertising the 100th Anniversary of the Church in the nearby village of Leigh. The making of straw figures pre-dates the Christian Church by many hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years. They were originally made to please the Corn Spirit and ensure a good harvest. |
