  1. (obsolete) A taxonomic class within the kingdom Plantae – a polyphyletic taxon comprising all icosandrous plants (those having twenty or more stamens in each perigynous flower).

Usage notes edit

This taxon was erected by Carl Linnaeus as an aid in classification, but was not intended to represent a natural grouping.
