Etymology edit

Borrowed from Arabic خَيْر (ḵayr) النِّسَاء (an-nisāʔ), grammatically "good thing of the women", although it was likely intended to mean "good woman". Indonesian do not distinguish singular and plural in many nouns, along with other many languages in Southeast Asia.
