- (Rotterdam) First attested as cralingha in 1244. Potentially derived from Middle Dutch *cralinge (“bent embankment or levee”) or, alternatively, from Old Dutch Kralo (“a personal name”) suffixed with the collectivising suffix -ing-. Formerly an independent village.
- (Goeree-Overflakkee) First attested as Cralingen in 1701. Potentially derived from Middle Dutch *cralinge (“bent embankment or levee”) or, alternatively, from Old Dutch Kralo (“a personal name”) suffixed with the collectivising suffix -ing-.
