Vietnamese edit

Etymology edit

Borrowed from French Michée. The <ch> represents a postalveolar fricative [ʃ] in modern French, meaning this is partially an orthographic borrowing from French, used probably because <s> is already reserved for the French alveolar fricative [s].

Pronunciation edit

Proper noun edit

Mi-chê

  1. (biblical, Protestantism) Alternative form of Mi-kha (Micah)
