Etymology edit

Chef Auguste Escoffier at the Savoy Hotel in London in 1892 or 1893 created the dish for, and named it after, Australian opera singer Nellie Melba.

  1. A classic French dessert, made from peaches and raspberry sauce accompanied with vanilla ice cream.
