Reconstruction:Illyrian/drakoina
Illyrian edit
Etymology edit
From Proto-Indo-European *dorkw-o-.Cognate to Ancient Greek δόρπον (dórpon, “supper, dinner; evening”) and Albanian darkë (“supper, dinner; evening”).[1] Has entered the declension of the feminine ā-stems. According to A. Lubotsky and M. de Vaan, considering the distribution of the term, Greek, Albanian and Illyrian strongly suggest borrowings from an old Balkan substrate source.[2]
Noun edit
*drakoina
