Etymology edit

From earlier *ši(k)šna, probably borrowed from a substrate language. Proto-Baltic [Term?] (whence Latvian siksna, Lithuanian šikšnà) and Erzya кшна (kšna, strap), Moksha [script needed] (šna)) are probably separate loans from the same substrate source.[1]
