Etymology edit

From Proto-Finno-Permic *wäśä- (compare Komi-Permyak висьны (viśny), Udmurt висьыны (viśyny)). Cognate with Proto-Finnic *väsüdäk. Alternatively possibly borrowed from Proto-Germanic [Term?], compare Old Norse vás (toil, fatigue, from bad weather), væstr (worn out by wet and toil) and Icelandic væsa.
