Etymology 2 edit

Attested only indirectly though its derivative *ostrujiti.[1] Either from the same origin as *strujiti (to gush out) or from proto-Indo-European *strew- (to strew, to construct). In the later case, the term would be a cognate with Proto-Germanic *strawjaną (to strew) and indirectly with Latin struō (to compose).
