From Arabic شَعْب (šaʕb, a people) and Arabic عَزّ (ʕazz, to be mighty or glorious). Also possibly from Persian شهباز (šahbâz, royal falcon), from شاه (shāh, “king”), + باز (bāz, “hawk, falcon”).
