Etymology edit

From Ancient Greek δέκα (déka, ten) + ὀκτώ (oktṓ, eight), from a traditional interpretation of its call as these words; in a Greek fable the bird was sent by the gods in answer to a servant girl's prayer that the world would be told of her paltry salary of 18 coins.
