Another definition? edit

Can this also mean "paste," as in ? 69.81.157.133 11:05, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The root meaning of is "sand" or "gravel." In some compound words, it can figuratively refer to anything that has been mashed or ground into paste, such as 豆沙 (mashed up beans). -- A-cai 07:23, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Vietnamese form should probably be "sa" edit

I think "sa" is better than "vành" for this reading. See http://www.viethoc.org/phorum/read.php?14,18824,page=2 for discussion about this. That site suggests that "vành" is a Chu Nom reading. Unfortunately I don't know how to prove my point. Should I go ahead and change the reading anyway? Daew00t 19:03, 19 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I wonder where someone got vành? The references I looked at all give variations on "sa." 24.93.190.134 05:22, 7 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
Return to "沙" page.
