you're right. There're two characters with different meaning: 面 means face or surface, and (麥+面) means noodles. Because their pronounciation are same, 麵 is simplified into 面 in simplifed Chinese, therefore 面 has the meaning of both 麵 and 面.--Wihwang 11:30, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
