  -chen are words formed with the suffix chen always das words? (Doesn't say so). Is there a standard way of pluraling a word formed with chen? RJFJR 19:31, 11 January 2009 (UTC) I think so, yes, at least neither me nor my friends could think of a -chen word that is not "das" in singular and "die" in plural. The spelling of the word itself is not changed in singular or plural. So: das Mädchen (s), die Mädchen (pl), das Brötchen (s), die Brötchen (pl) Mutante 22:25, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Japanese

Probably doesn't have anything to do with -chen, but in japanese, the -chan suffix is used for girls and cute stuff (and it sounds similar!) --94.253.131.16 09:37, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
