Do we really want to list every "ology" in "Derived terms"? -- Visviva 07:18, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes. And the odd "alogy". SemperBlotto 07:25, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

But only because Category:English words suffixed with -logy doesn't differ between the different meanings of -logy (in Greek e.g. θεολόγος and φιλόλογος have the accent placed differently, though this only holds for the adjective and not for the related nouns) -84.161.33.91 01:10, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm a little worried about the etymology here. Certainly, the names of sciences are derived this way (from legein, via -log- to -logia). But this is not the way that a word like 'eulogy' is derived. Surely that is derived directly from the Gk noun, logos? Calypygian 03:21, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
