- Not sure if he "preferred" a Latinised name. He was famous for fighting the Romans. I think that is just an issue with Roman historians. Like Arminius. Arminius is famous also for destroying the Romans in the year 9AD. Highly doubt he would WANT to be called "Arminius".
And yes, "Alarich" is German for "all king", or "ruler of all". Wiki list is as a variant spelling of "Ulrich", but that is completely wrong. Ulrich's fist prefix comes from Othilla/Adel. Does not look like it, but it is. 73.220.34.167 18:00, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
