1. The word Bushism refers to this type of comment only. If he makes sense or isn't funny then it isn't a Bushism. I didn't make up the word, it is in common usage although I wonder if it is in any print dictionaries yet. As a comparision there is also the word Thatcherism (referring to quotes) , although this seems to be more about citing the woman's toughness rather than suggesting that she is stupid.
