Someone who used to live there mentioned the name of the city and it sounded to me like ˈlʊɫvɪl or maybe ˈlʊəvɪl. I'll try and get him to say it unselfconsciously some more.—msh210℠ (talk) 14:43, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, it is pronounced /ˈluːəvəl/, /ˈlʌvəl/, or /ˈluːiːvɪl/. Most people who are not from there say /ˈluːiːvɪl/. Only the natives of the city say /ˈluːəvəl/ or /ˈlʌvəl/. —Stephen (Talk) 16:27, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
