Talk:anus

Return to "anus" page.

The two Latin nouns & their etymologiesEdit

Shouldn't the text of Etymology 1 be in Etymology 2? Or, is anus=ring also derived from words meaning "old woman"? If the latter is true, we need to clarify that in both etymology sections. If anus=ring is NOT derived from the same words as anus=old woman, then can we please verify its etymology and fix that section?

I would like to do this myself, but unfortunately I am too disabled from illnesses to do much (if curious, see my Wikipedia page), so I am stuck making these kinds of suggestions. I appreciate the hard work of whoever resolves the problems in any of my comments. :)

You are 100% correct. Thanks. Sorry about your problems. Problems on talk pages don't get as rapid attention as those noted on WT:RFC or WT:TR and, worse, sometimes fall between the cracks. DCDuring TALK 23:14, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
