Talk:clearance hole

Something seems very wrong with this definition. The screw-head isn't supposed to pass through the hole, only the screw-shaft (or nail-shaft, or worker, or just about any other assemblage) is supposed to pass through, right? Perhaps this should be confined to an additional sense of clearance, rather than purporting to be a specific type of noun (or an idiomatic meaning, which it also does not seem to be.) --Connel MacKenzie T C 19:01, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
