Defile vs. Pollute edit
Is defile really less strong than pollute? I would use defile as an escalation from pollute. To pollute an area could be a case of dropping a chip packet, for example. Whereas I doubt anyone would deem that to be a defilement. To defile the area one would have to do something unsanctimonious, something truly awful.
What are others feelings on the topic?
