Talk:double cousin

Latest comment: 2 years ago by Geographyinitiative in topic double first cousin and double cousin

Origins edit

This phrase was coined by Mr Colm Larkin B.A. (Mod) of Dublin University, Trinity College, Ireland, in his publication 'My Cousin and I' (1982) ISBN: 0307126889

The above comment from 2004 is in error; the term dates to the early 19th century according to Lexico. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 15:46, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

double first cousin and double cousin edit

My instinct is that although it's clearly theoretically possible to have a double second cousin or a double fifth cousin twice removed or whatever, the vast majority of references to double cousin will be synonyms with double first cousin. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 22:05, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
