Talk:effort

Effort is not a verb. I would remove this part of the definition myself, except that I have to wonder why no one has called it out already. I checked the Oxford English Online Dictionary and Merrim Webster Online Dictionaries, and neither mention that "effort" can be used as a verb. I would be happy to concede to superior evidence, but I'm confident that there is none beyond "I heard a newscaster say it on TV" or "It was constantly used in my MBA classes." I'd have to disagree with you there. The second sense ('to make strong') can be found in OED online. For the other sense, a quick search of 'efforted' and 'efforting' on Google Books picks up a lot of valid usages, over a year old, so I don't see why it doesn't meet WT:CFI.
