Person, place or object edit

Re: Of, relating to, or being the person after which something is named

Surely this should be person, place or object after which something is named?

Holland vs the Netherlands edit

The language Limburgish is named after the eponymous provinces in Belgium and Holland.

yikes. Hollandthe Netherlands.

North Holland, and South Holland are both provinces in the Netherlands, and so is Limburg. ≈Sensorsweep (talk) 02:51, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Strictly speaking, yes, but to an awful lot of English speakers, Holland is just another name for the Netherlands. For all of those people that's not a mistake, because they will understand it perfectly with the meaning intended. For the minority that knows the difference, though, it could cause confusion- so I suppose it needs to be corrected. Chuck Entz (talk) 05:04, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
