Let me ex-plain. Another bullshit ex- entry, which I would like to turn into an ex-entry, unless it is ex-empt from deletion. Maybe I am a little ex-entric. P. Sovjunk (talk) 21:33, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- Merits inclusion as slavery-related vocabulary, useful as a synonym of similar terminology, and precious as a translation hub. I’d vote keep. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 08:03, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep. I am convinced by Inqilābī’s reasoning. Fay Freak (talk) 09:52, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep for translations. DonnanZ (talk) 11:27, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- Keep as a convincing THUB at the very least though I'm also sympathetic to the other arguments above. —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 12:43, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
Kept per consensus. PUC – 09:18, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- For the record, I have nothing against this entry, but I don't find the THUB argument very convincing: why wouldn't freedman be sufficient? We already have a whole slew of translations there. Is there a difference between a freedman and an ex-slave? PUC – 15:19, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- I am not sure every translator will see it like this. The resulting translations are likely to be different, even if it is not logical, so we get more entropy. The main reason to keep this entry is however that it designates a certain present status of a person, rather than a historical state of random implications, just as ex-wife.
