Added bicycle fender. While functionally the same as the car fender, the definition as currently written is specific to a car and cannot be simply edited to add the word "bicycle." But should it be re-written and merged into the car definition? Oswald Glinkmeyer 22:43, 18 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I take it the addition of the synonym "mudguard" as a British synonym for definition 2 indicates that they are sufficiently different concepts to warrant two entries (since the British appear to have two separate words for this). Oswald Glinkmeyer 22:27, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sense 2 edit

What kind of the car is it in sense two, (wing in British and guard in Australian). I understand the definition but do not know what it is. Couldn't figure out from the translaions. Does anyone have a picture? Ferike333 14:33, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

As far as I understand it, the fender is not very visible on modern cars because it is "hidden" just below the w:quarter panels. Older cars had huge fenders covering weels because the wheels usually jutted significantly away from the main body of the car. Circeus 17:01, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I see now, but I don't think there is a Hungarian word for it. Ferike333 09:56, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
