No. If you ask any flamenco dancer what she is dancing, she will say "alegrías", "bulerías", or some other particular style. She will never say "the Flamenco".
I write as the flamenco correspondent for Classical Guitar magazine, and for Guitar International before that.
If you want specific quotations I can find them for you.

- It's about usage as well as accuracy. If people say 'I can dance a good flamenco' then we need to cover that usage. It could be considered 'informal' usage perhaps. At any rate, don't remove all the translations and citations whilst editing an entry. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:12, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
