- German Gulasch will not be loaned as Dutch goulash, though it might be loaned as goelasj (or goelas, but I have almost never heard that). And it was loaned as "goelasj", but the spelling "goulash" won in the end, probably helped by the spelling in French and English. --80.114.178.7 21:21, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Relative commonness of the forms edit
FWIW, as of this writing, Google Books shows me 38 books that use goelasj as the Dutch word for this kind of soup (with some uses being in compounds) and 4 books that mention goelasj. More than 40 books use the phrase "Hongaarse goulash" in Dutch (and one book uses it in English). - -sche (discuss) 23:02, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
