I'm dropping the ""British" label because things in America, New Zealand, etc are gutting too, e.g. "her breakout single “Night Shift,” a gutting takedown of an ex-lover" (from American publication Them), "'Don't Think Twice' is a gutting look at struggling comedians" (Metro US headline); "RWC decision a 'gutting' blow to Christchurch" (stuff.co.nz headline), "Boosted by a 2-1 win over rivals Auckland in round one, followed by a "gutting" narrow one goal loss to North Harbour last weekend, ..."
