intervallologist, intervallologue, intervallologer (et: intervallum):

  1. one who focuses on the intervals and not on scales while composing
    • (intervallological composition) using interval harmonics and not scales as the first criterion of composition
    • (here you immediately care about the intervals, because most other methods do the same indirectly, or directly but not consciously because of the usage of ready made standards; but even intervallology has mathematical standards)
  2. one who studies musical intervals (not necessarily the European systems [equal, well, true temperaments])
