Singular:


I believe that the singular form, if there is one, would have to be kleed, which now means "robe" (I believe), but which would have originally meant "cloth". (A robe is really just a piece of cloth wrapped around oneself.) The idea and the word form have both shifted over time, making the original seem disconnected or unrelated to many people. Kleed, plural kleden>klederen>kleren
