- Thanks for the note. That fragment of the definition presumably did not attempt to call human librarians software, but rather extended the definition of librarian to include software systems. Regardless, if librarian is really used to describe such software systems, it is a figurative reference to the role of a human librarian. So, I removed the software reference.
