Breaking the loop edit

I have replaced the definition:

the feeling or state of being lonely.

with the one from Wikipedia:

an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation.

Note that lone is currently defined in terms of loneliness, so there was a vicious circle. Also, the assignment to emotional state is more specific, and therefore more telling. Apart from that, I find the new definition apparently more telling. --Daniel Polansky 06:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another Definition for loneliness edit

Hi,

According to http://www.google.ca/webhp?hl=en&tab=ww#hl=en&sugexp=les%3B&gs_nf=3&pq=yahoo%20dictionary&cp=12&gs_id=1x&xhr=t&q=Loneliness%20definition&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&oq=Loneliness+d&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=8f355ff59f564f48&bpcl=38625945&biw=1241&bih=599 , loneliness means "the state of being alone in solitary isolation". It's just another definition for loneliness. :) —RossSLynch (talk) 18:03, 17 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Thanks for adding that. However, I don't think it's really distinct from "The condition of being lonely; solitude; seclusion." The two senses should probably be merged. - -sche (discuss) 19:07, 17 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
