Talk:misogamy
The following usage example is very unfortunate: "The Catholic clergy is often thought to have supported misogamy." 1) There is no citation. Who said this or on what authority is it used? 2) If this is the author's opinion the fact should be made clear. 3) In either case it could easily be seen as anti-Catholic or anti-clerical with regard to Catholics. 4) The statement itself is misinformed and seems to be the result of confusing a fact, the celibacy of Latin Rite Catholic priests, with an attitude, misogamy. In fact the great majority of Catholic clergy live celibate lives while maintaining very healthy respect and admiration for the institution of marriage and especially for those who live it. 5) (Full disclosure) The author of this discussion entry is a Catholic priest. - It's an example sentence, it doesn't have to be a citation or factually correct. The easiest solution would seem to be finding a real citation (pretty easy) and replacing this with that. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:31, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
