Using the phrase pack animal to refer to pack hunters is a malapropism.
Because someone 6 years ago edited the page with that definition there has been a positive feedback loop of the misuse. Livingfractal (talk) 04:08, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- The phrase has been used with this meaning for at least half a century. Many books on dog behavior include the statement that "dogs are pack animals" (not referring to their historical role as beasts of burden).
