I would like to spell it prosit, but I don't know if that's regional... According to folk lore, it comes from latin and should mean something like "good luck", but I can't promise whether it's true. \Mike 13:47, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Well, prosit is Latin for "may it be useful (for you)" or "may it benefit (you)". --Vladisdead 13:51, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Not that far off, then! \Mike
Thanks guys! I was just going from my memory of what I was taught in Sweden a couple of years ago. Now it looks like this word is closely related to the German word for "cheers". Please feel free to improve my humble article (-: — Hippietrail 21:48, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Wrong edit summary edit

I was tired and accidentally (partly from muscle memory) wrote "added Swedish" instead of "added pronunciation" in my edit summary. Sorry for that. Glades12 (talk) 20:02, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
