Talk:recurrence

Latest comment: 17 years ago by Connel MacKenzie

In a scientific paper - written by a non-native speaker - I found "recurrence" used in the word "three-term recurrence" in connection with the definition of Chebyshev polynomials. I wonder if this is possible since I expected here "recursion" instead of "recurrence". So my question to the experts is whether "three-term recurrence" is the common expression. — This comment was unsigned.

This might meet more eyes in WT:ID. Looking at this vs. this, I'm left wondering how to search would groupings more closely.
The exmaples above seem to indicate the use of recurrence formulas to solve the problems, but I haven't studied it in depth, myself. Perhaps you could try asking at w:Talk:Chebyshev polynomials? --Connel MacKenzie 03:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
