Pronunciation edit
The pronunciation is valid for the verb, but not for the noun. Jcwf 22:37, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
- How so? In British English at least, the noun repeat as a repeated TV programme or a repetition is pronounced like the verb. Equinox ◑ 23:00, 11 January 2020 (UTC)
e.g. listening to a song on repeat. Does this merit an entry, or a further noun sense here? Equinox ◑ 17:42, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Euphemism for burping edit
Not quite sure of the possible forms, but you can "repeat" (?) or "repeat yourself", or maybe your food can "repeat" or "repeat itself", and this is a euphemism for burping. Example from H. E. Bates: "The tea and the lemon abruptly started to repeat themselves and she knew that if she were not very careful they would bring on an uncomfortable attack of heartburn."
