Talk:romanji

I think romanji is only an English word, a respelling of romaji based on English-speakers recognizing the root "roman" in it. ローマン字 is not in my Japanese dictionary... can we get a citation of it, and certainty it means the same as ローマ字? The few I am able to find in Google, if they are not errors for ローマ字, may refer to roman characters generally (that is to say, rōman ji), not specifically Japanese romanization (rōmaji). —Muke Tever 04:02, 8 May 2004 (UTC)Reply

You could be right. I've definitely heard and seen both romanized spellings in an English context talking about Japanese language or writing or computing and expected both to also exist in Japanese since it was phonemically possible and I didn't have an authoratative source to clarify matters for me. Please make any changes you feel improve the accuracy. My skill/knowledge in Japanese is far poorer than my interest in it so far... — Hippietrail 04:15, 8 May 2004 (UTC)Reply
